Hw #6

I don't know how videos work or how to use the technology to make one, so this may turn out really bad. My parents didn't want me to appear on the photo so I took pictures of stuffed animals. The video was too short so I added some pictures of how I view digitalization.

We like our technology as mush as we love our stuffed animals when we were little. Like little kids we are inspired easily by things we've never seen before, wanting the newest things that come out. We let ourselves cage in the digital world, zoned out as if your piece of the world has separated from everyone else. Sealed in a world where you can do what you want, have what you like. Being locked away we miss out on so many things, we're caged up in our world. Don't we get bored, every bird wants to be free so they can fly. If our lies pile up we may drown in them, the world is full of lies. There technology almost every where in this world, do it ever stop? If it does are we denying that time is moving forward? Not all of us want to be trapped forever in a perfect world, having the courage to pick and path that hasn't been taken before rather then taking the ones planned out for you are the greatest things. It's better to be free.
Hope you like it~
(>'.')>Thank you for watching! <('.'<)

  1. Hey Miki:
The video was really cute and I like how you decided to present the topic of digitilization to others! The message that got through to me was that the world is pretty much addicted to technology - even the stuffed animals!- and has locked itself away. Still, at the end there is hope and some can reopen to a world without technology where the reality of the sky lies. The world itself has practically become digitalized while someday we may just land in an ocean and drown within it without realizing, in our obsession.

  3. Please don't copy what I said in the first place, Yuki Sakura. It's obvious and seriously insulting. I hope you understand if you're going to write off what someone else said, it'd be better to phrase it in your own words. Think a little harder and then write down what you want to say, don't just rearrange what I said-- it's too obvious. Like I first said, it's rude so don't do it.

sorry for the trouble, miki =x
just had to get that off my mind -3-
-myst left a wrinkled note here *-*

  4. I don't think its rather rude if you and I see the same points in her video. o.O so you know and if you think I did copy you then I'm apologize. I got what I say from her video and we're suppose to have the same points mostly if we are watching her video. Well I'm just repeating myself but if you don't get it then its okay.

  6. Haha, you really are funny. I don't think comments about the video would seem exactly the same even if we did watch the same video. The way you phrase it, it looks like you're going for insulting a person after all. And by the way, I do get what you're saying. I'm sure you wanted to imply that I'm slow? Or that I'm just not following here? The message you said was pretty clear, if you ask me. Have fun being rude, it'll surely led you to your downfall.

really sorry, miki to post up stuff like this on your blog but she was really mean =.=

  9. Ah~ Na Lin, I rewritten it to satisfied someone and if she still thinks what I wrote here is what she thinks, oh well, tough luck
so here... I hope Lauren comes to comment us!! LAURENNNNNNNN XDDDDD!!!!!

Using your stuff animals as human and then putting them with the electronics was nice. Very creative of you. And the picture of the seal, now that you explain to me was very nice to open up the whole point of view you wanted to show.

I think the major points in your post was about how technology is everywhere and like your answers said, that we love technology as much as we love playing with stuff animals when we are young (or now as well). And you said if we are getting bored with all these technologies floating around us and keeping us trapped in a one place, not going elsewhere physically? And you also mixed freedom in it that technology are restricting our freedom?

I can connect how technology is spreading fast and affecting the Earth. We are quite needing to use our digital and that living in a digital era, we see a lot of electronics that we can't buy. Additionally, I agree with what you said about trapping ourself; we isolate ourselves in our room and started exploring the world out with the internet and then just using those informations that we have to put as our own. I feel as if we are in a virtual land, bad metaphor but hang on with that, that we are just using what others knowledge to put forth our own opinions and the view of the world.

I thought you could have put more pictures about you (I mean not pictures of you but rather the technology that you are using, the pictures of how you view them, and I don't really mean pictures of the electronics you have) and less about the worldly view. I think that would show more of you than talking about the world because talking about the world is standard but about you, it's more understanding and lets me understand more about you. But my video is bad as well, yours is much better. After you publish your writing, I think you could have develop on what are the lies that you are talking about? Why is the world full of lies? And then you see people going online to get the information that are true, well the way we live in this world, we sort of have to think it is true. So do you think technology is a lie?
Lol, can you explain a bit about the perfect world one because none of us are living in the perfect world. Are you living in a perfect world? Because we human have to pick up something new, like you said, that we are able to move on. But are you sure that means that it is free? Are we free to actually pick anything we want and use that to put it onto our path? What do you think? Do you think we can explore what we wanted, unlike going on to the internet and finding out stuffs and dream of it but rather physically go out and explore it? Or do we need a lot of money or some way to do that?

It considers in my own life how everyday I come home, I would open my computer to either check my mail, surfing on the web or do my homework on the blogger/typing on the microsoft word. It seems that we might not needed but because we humans wanted to have an easier life that we choose the digital than not the digital. I don't really think technology will stop and even if it will, the time won't stop for us, the time that we have stop for us because we can't deal as easily living unlike the ones back in time. And then you said about freedom; do you mean freedom as in what makes you happy? Because a lot of us use the computer to be happy, for entertainment like what Andy said in class. Or do you mean freedom as in "trapped" in this room with the electronics that we have?

Wonderful stuff animals, wish I have that much. Always happy to read your intriguing post. Hope to read more next time and the next and the next, next, next, next.... ^-^~

  10. Na Lin!!!
My initial reaction to the video was that it is so cute! I loved how you obeyed your parents’ wishes and substituted yourself with the stuffed animals. You seem very creative! I also thought you did something that no one else did and that was adding in pictures of what you thought the internet represented.
To be honest it seems like you had so many great ideas about this topic, that it was hard to follow your thought of process. If I’m correct I think your main argument is that the internet traps us, therefore we should not let that happen and choose a free path instead.
You also mention that people always have a crazy instinct to want the newest thing that comes out. When I was a child I never begged for toys that I saw on television. I feel like this has carried with me now, maybe I’m just lying to myself but I feel as though I don’t need to have new things but that new things seem to catch my eye and if I can’t have them I’m fine with that.
The quotes that stood out to be the most were “Don't we get bored; every bird wants to be free so they can fly.” And “If our lies pile up we may drown in them, the world is full of lies.” I think these tow are worth expanding your ideas. What does lying have to do with the use of technology? Do you think the use of technology causes these lies? Also to answer your first question I think looking within yourself is one possible answer. As for me when I get bored I just get the urge to move on to the next website.
You made me really think more about how much my priorities have changed as a child. I use to value my stuffed animals and crayons as my most prized possessions. Now I have my cell phone, Ipod, laptop and so many other things that I keep near and dear to my heart. I never thought of the transitions between those two phases of my life.
You seem to have so many ideas and I’m looking forward to see you explain yourself more. I think you have some solid ideas and good arguments to offer to this class. I look forward to see what else you have to say! :)
    -Lauren
